Located right in Hollister, this park features the 325-foot remnants of a 350-million-year-old mountain range. You can hike over 10 miles of trails, go fishing in Little Fishing Creek, or even look for evidence of the local "Bigfoot" legend. It's a perfect spot for a family stroll or a scenic picnic in the open meadows.

For those seeking adventure, this 4,600-acre lake offers kayaking, sand volleyball, and a nine-hole disc golf course. It features a beautiful playground for the little ones and a handicapped-accessible fishing pier for the seniors. It's a fantastic destination for an afternoon of family competition or just relaxing by the shoreline.

Celebrate at the Castalia Fourth of July Celebration

Just a short drive away in Castalia, this beloved Independence Day celebration takes over Castalia Community Park with food trucks, craft vendors, live music, a car cruise-in, a veterans ceremony, and the annual Castalia Independence Day Parade featuring local dignitaries and floats. The day wraps up with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the sky around 9:15 p.m. — a perfect all-ages outing for the whole family. Held Saturday, July 4, 2026, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is free.
